Biopic dramatizes the saga of The Runaways, an all-girl 1970s rock group.

ABSTRACT
Cherie Currie, a teenager in 70s-era Los Angeles who harbors an obsessive dream of rock superstardom, is discovered by fellow teen Joan Jett and record producer Kim Fowley in their search for components of an all-girl rock band shortly after winning her high school's talent show by lip-syncing to David Bowie's Lady Grinning Soul. Joined shortly thereafter by several other female musicians, they combine their talents to form The Runaways, experiencing the highs and lows of the rockstar lifestyle together as they battle through the struggles of existing as a band.
