ABSTRACT
Nicky Spurgeon, a crafty con man seeking a lucrative exit out of his trade, outwits two-bit grifter Jess Barrett when she attempts to use her charm to swindle him at a nightclub. Nicky takes Jess under his wing to show her the tricks of the trade, breaking one of his father's cardinal rules for business when they fall in love; complications arise three years down the road when he abandons her and they reunite on separate paths.
