Crime drama tells the story of the Bondurant brothers, three moonshiners in Prohibition-era rural Virginia.

ABSTRACT
The Bondurant brothers -- Forrest, Howard, and Jack -- are three men in charge of a "gas station" serving as a front for their illegal moonshining activities in Franklin County, Virginia, circa 1931. Their relatively-stable criminal enterprise's existence is threatened, however, when corrupt Special Deputy Charley Rakes visits the operation one day and demands a cut of the profits, touching off a series of events that threatens to shatter the Bondurant brothers' livelihood and sheer existences.
