Excellent film noir, stylish,clever, intelligently made, well acted and directed, this film just manages to keep the identity of its central character at bay throughout, and it is proof that the French are tops in Europe at making good films in a way that no one else can. One of my favourite films of all time is Usual Suspects and there is a lot about Anthony Zimmer that is reminiscent - the tension spikes and the music especially. I was recommended this film by a friend who saw it on a long plane flight. I am so pleased I folowed his recommendation and bought the DVD from Amazon. Worth the effort.
