Capricorn One (2-Jun-1978)

Director: Peter Hyams

Writer: Peter Hyams

Music: Jerry Goldsmith

Producer: Paul N. Lazarus III

Keywords: Sci-Fi, Space Exploration

The NASA mission to Mars experiences a serious problem immediately before launch; rather than concede failure and lose the agency budget, the three Capricorn astronauts are removed to a secret location in the Texas desert, where they continue to act out their "mission." Alarmingly they learn of reports that their shuttle was destroyed on reentry, they must presume their days are numbered. Elliot Gould plays a reporter who smells something fishy.
