A disgraced ex-narcotics officer is called back into the police force to investigate a cop's mysterious murder.

ABSTRACT
An undercover Detroit cop -- or "narc" -- is mysteriously killed in the line of duty, bringing ex-narcotics officer Nick Tellis back into the fold to lend his talents to the investigation. Nick, for his part, is a troubled man; discharged from the force after an operation gone horribly awry, he struggles to muscle past his drug addiction. His latest mission sees him teaming up with the murdered cop's old partner, traversing some of the Motor City's worst neighborhoods as he looks to get his man while avoiding the destructive temptations of his personal demons.
