Documentary examines the 1980s phenomenon of text-adventure computer games.

ABSTRACT
Largely forgotten amidst the sands of time and alien to gamers hailing from a modern generation filled with slick, beautiful-sounding gaming experiences, text adventures ruled the burgeoning-yet-technologically limited personal computing industry of the early-to-mid 1980s, spawning game franchises such as Zork that relied on a player's hopefully-active imagination to weave their tale. The dusty story of this genre of computer game comes back to life in Get Lamp, an indie documentary tracing the rise and fall of Infocom and a host of other players in the text-adventure industry.
