Music Composed and Conducted by: Jack Elliott

Producers: David V. Picker; William E. McEuen

Steve Martin is Navin R. Johnson, raised by an African-American family, is a dim and innocent man who discovers only at age 30 that he was adopted. Coming to terms with that revelation, he leaves Mississippi to venture into the bright world. Working as a gas station attendant, he gets his name in the phone book and invents the "Optigrab", a device to keep glasses from sliding down one's nose. Good showcase for Martin's oddball slapstick.
