ABSTRACT
The Barrett family, consisting of husband Daniel, wife Lacy, and sons Jesse and Sammy, are struggling through a period of turmoil stemming from Daniel's recent inability to find steady work. Jesse's diversions in the form of scary stories involving the Sandman prove to be a frightening harbinger of events to come, as his family soon become a part of a series of increasingly disturbing happenings that serve to make the presence of a chilling extraterrestrial force in their midst readily evident.
