REVIEWS

Review by Mary in South Carolina (posted on 17-Mar-2005)

I'm a teacher, so naturally I love a movie that glorifies the character of a teacher. "The terrible Miss Dove" teaches her students by expectation and example. She teaches the values of patience, hard work, maintaining a spotless reputation, equality, and compassion. She gives up a marriage proposal from a Princeton graduate to quietly pay back money her father embezzled from his bank -- a fact that is uncovered shortly after his sudden death. By the end of the movie, her students, all adults now, realize the worth of the lessons learned in her class because of the issues that surface in their lives. I wish this heartwarming movie were available on DVD.
