Music: Eurythmics; Dominic Muldowney

Ministry of Truth apparatchik Winston Smith edits news to match Party ideology, consulting a constantly-changing dictionary of "Newspeak" for proper terminology. After Winston and his co-worker Julia commence a love affair, the pair are both arrested for this illicit "sexcrime." Filmed in London during April-June 1984 it is a faithful rendering of Orwell's totalitarian novel, previously adapted as 1984 (1956).
