ABSTRACT
Terry McCaleb, renowned FBI detective from southern California, retired from his line of work when a massive heart attack left him in dire need of a transplant. Terry's post-work life of solitude on a houseboat is interrupted when a woman named Graciela Rivers surfaces, informing him that her sister -- murdered by a mugger -- was his heart donor; now, Terry must work within the limitations of his post-heart attack lifestyle to help identify her killer with the aid of his own blood work.
