Western Airlines
COMPANY
Founded 1925 by Harris Hanshue as Western Air Express, in 1928 it became Western Air Express Corporation, and part of TWA several years later. Western Air Transport then split from TWA, becoming in 1934 General Airlines. In 1941 it changed name again to Western Airlines. In 1986 it Western was acquired by Delta Airlines, its existence as a separate brand ending the following year.
