COMPANY

Between 1990 and 1997 was HFS Incorporated (Hospitality Franchise Systems), founded by Henry R. Silverman. Merged with Comp-U-Card in 1997, and a year later became embroiled in scandal following the revelation of massive accounting fraud under CEO Walter A. Forbes.

Cedant included the brands Days Inn, Super 8, Budget Rent-a-Car, Avis Rent-a-Car, Cheap Tickets, Orbitz, Howard Johnson, Century 21, and Coldwell Banker, among other holdings. Divided into four companies in 2005/06. These are Avis Budget Group, Realogy, Travelport, and Wyndham Worldwide.
